Kathy Griffin Celebrates The New Year

Happy New Year! I hope that 2013 brings you lots of joy. This year has started much differently than the last. I started working at 7 AM on New Years Day. This leaves little time to go out, so instead of going out on a "booze cruise," I stayed at home and from the comforts of my bed watched the always hilarious Kathy Griffin embarrass Anderson Cooper on CNN. I was dying the entire time.

Kathy Griffin is my favorite. She says and does the most hilarious things and last night's broadcast was no exception. What I love a lot about the comedienne is that she just says whatever she is feeling. At one point in the night something happens and Psy and MCHammer just show up after performing for another network. Of course this is completely unplanned. Both Anderson and Kathy are like "what the fuck?!" Kathy turns to Psy and says, "you are printing money out your ass at this point." In response Psy says, "coming from you, that means a lot." Clearly he was also VERY confused. As Kathy said in her Grammy nominated CD For Your Consideration..."it happened Tracy, it happened."

The other fabulous thing about the program last night is how much Kathy was embarrassing Anderson. I'm sure this is nothing new, but unfortunately I've never seen the program before. Anderson was giggly in such a nervous manner, but that was just fueling Kathy's flame. At one point she was just going to throw a bunch of $1 bills into the crowd and he had to grab it out of her hands. While watching the program I was wondering to myself, "who's hotter...Kathy or Anderson?" I still have no idea.

The worst part of the program was the Honey Boo Boo interview. Now obviously I love me some Boo Boo, but this interview sucked. The lag was atrocious and you could tell that neither party interested in the happenings. In fact, it was probably the only point in the night where Kathy said absolutely nothing and neither did Boo Boo herself. Of course Mamma was loving it though.

Overall the night was a success for CNN, although, I would have loved a Seacrest showdown. I would suggest if you have no big plans next year that you put this high on your priority list. Anyway, what did you do to bring in the New Year?!

Happy Trails,
